The Week Ahead There will be Women's Bible Study on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at English Meadows. All are invited.
The Maundy Thursday service and communion will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
This Sunday is Easter Sunday. The day starts with our Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m., on the front lawn weather permitting. Simple Gifts of the Blue Ridge will provide the music and Linda will offer Reflections On Resurrection. See below for details of our annual Omelette (and Waffle) Breakfast after the Sunrise Service. At the 10 a.m. service, Linda's message will be “Naming Names.” The choir will sing “Resurrection Victory” and the chiming choir will play “Christ Is Alive! Alleluia!” There will be no Sunday School classes but there will be activities for children.

Omelette (and Waffle) Breakfast Following the Easter Sunrise service, we will have our traditional Make-Your-Own-Omelette Breakfast. Alex's waffles are also on the menu. We will start making and serving at 8:40 a.m. Please bring a dish to share, although that is not a requirement to attend. Suggestions for something to share include a breakfast side dish, fruit, bread, or muffins. Set-up and preparation will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Lots of help will be needed to move and set up tables in the Chapel, set places, and chop and sauté veggies. Contact Barbara Wierwille with any questions or offerings of help. |

One Great Hour of Sharing
Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. The work done in support of the causes supported by One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) — disaster, hunger, poverty, climate change, and immigration/migration and refugees — serves individuals and communities in need. This work provides people with safety, sustenance, and hope. We will collect this offering on Sunday; envelopes will be in the bulletin. You can also donate via your on-line account, please list in the Note that your payment is for the One Great Hour offering.

Monday Night Supper This week's meal was hot dogs (2), baked beans, chips, fruit, and cookies. We served 50 meals.
Thanks to our volunteers this week: Marge and George, Barbara, Ann Marie and Maria, Susan, Alex, Linda, and Heidi and Bruce.
Bag Collection: If you have groceries delivered from Kroger, please save the large delivery bags and bring them to the church. If you have friends who get deliveries and don't know what to do with the bags, we can use them. They are the right size to pack multiple meals for delivery to the parking lot. It is a good way to recycle the bags, reducing the need to order brown paper shopping bags.
Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed. |
