The Week Ahead

This Sunday is the celebration of the Baptism of the Lord. Linda's message is “What Are You Looking For?” The choir will perform “Siyahamba.”

We will recognize outgoing church officers Kay Hunnings, Traci McCoy, Sandi Webster, Betsy Stinson, and Nedra Underwood. We will install Joe Hunnings and Heidi Harper as Elders, install Mary Lough as a Deacon, and ordain and install Lisa Green as a Deacon. Lisa Garcia, Frieda Bostian, and Lucian Robinson will continue as Deacons and Sue Bentley will continue as an Elder. Steve Cole will be a new member on the Memorials Board.

The Officer Retreat is on Saturday, January 17.

The church office will be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther King Day.

Garden Committee Meeting

The Garden Committee will meet Thursday, January 15, at 11 am. Among the items to be discussed are how to display names, creating and updating the Garden of Remembrance notebook, and spring and summer cleanup and maintenance. Anyone interested in helping is invited to attend the meeting in the Old Kitchen.

Monday Night Supper

The meal on Monday was Mexican tater-tot casserole, cornbread, fruit and cookies. We served 48 meals. Thank you Steve and Rosemary, Barbara, George and Marge, Alex, Susan, and Heidi and Bruce for volunteering.

Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed.

Thank You

Santa visited the kitchen over the holidays and left a new, bigger, more-powerful microwave oven. Many thanks to the Chaney family for this generous gift.
