Coming Sunday
This Sunday Linda will preach on “Being Encouraged.” The choir will sing “Great Is the Lord” to enhance the worship service. We will celebrate communion.
Sunday School starts after Fellowship time. Kathy Carpenter will teach on the book Anxious to Talk About It, Helping White Christians Talk Faithfully about Racism by Carolyn B. Helsel. The adult Bible study will continue with John, and the kids will be having a short learning time with Susan downstairs during church time after they have their time in the sanctuary.

Prayers and Sympathy The sympathy of the congregation is offered for the families of these long-time members of Northside.
Lou Brown died on Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, and entered into the eternal light of God. Please be in prayer for her family. We give thanks for Lou's life of faith, and that she has passed from all pain into all joy. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m.
Ron Pearson died on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 30, and is resting in the eternal light and love of God. We are grateful for that Godly man's life. Please keep Stacey and Tom, and Pat Miller and the rest of the family in your prayers. No service plans have been made yet.

Christmas Store Collection The Mission Committee is asking Northside members and friends to support the Montgomery County Christmas Store by donating toys, batteries, and board games. There will be a collection box in the Narthex and Nov. 30 will be the last day to drop off your gifts. The toy list includes toys for ages 0-10 year olds • Bluey • Crayola Washable Magic Markers • Single Barbie dolls • Trucks • Small Lego sets • Bicycle helmets for children • Batteries for toys that require them |

Women's Bible Study The Women's Bible Study will be on Thursday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. at English Meadows, 3400 S Point Drive in Blacksburg. There are still some books available for purchase.

Save on Life Line Screening Northside will be hosting a Life Line Screening event on Friday, Nov. 14. Life Line Screening is the premier provider of stroke and cardiovascular disease risk screenings since 1993. Life Line Screening is extending a discounted offer to all Northside members. This $129 screening will will identify your risk level for the following diseases: 1. Carotid Artery Disease 2. Peripheral Arterial Disease 3. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm 4. Atrial Fibrillation

Monday Night Supper Monday's meal was Mexican tater-tot casserole, fresh veggies, fruit, and cookies. There were 110 meals served. Helpers were Ann Marie and Maria, George and Marge, Linda, Susan, and Bruce and Heidi.
Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed. |
