Coming Sunday
This Sunday Linda will preach on “Being Whole.” The choir will sing “Praise the Lord, Ye Heavens Adore Him” to enhance the worship service.
It is time for the 2 Cents a Meal offering (every second Sunday). Please bring your change to add to the collection container.
It is also Card Care Sunday. Write a short note in cards that are sent to our homebound members and friends to let them know we are thinking about them.
Sunday School starts after Fellowship time. Linda will continue with her series on the history of western Christianity. The adult Bible study will continue with John and the kids will be having a short learning time with Susan downstairs during church time after they have their time in the sanctuary.

Martha Taylor Service The memorial service for long-time member Martha Taylor will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the sanctuary.
Martha Jane Ford Taylor of Largo, FL (formerly of Blacksburg, VA) passed away August 18, 2025, following a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Taylorsville, NC, on April 5, 1941, the youngest daughter of the late Rev. Wilborn McCree Ford, D.D., and Lyllian Virginia Rosen Ford.
She is predeceased by her sister, Sara Lee Ford Brown, her husband, William "Bill" R. Taylor, and her son, Andrew Brian Taylor. She is survived by two sisters, Anne Robinson of Blacksburg, VA, and Mary Lyllian Herron of Gulf Breeze, FL, one son, Charles Franklin Taylor of Largo, FL, and one grandson, Eli Patrick Taylor of Chester, VA.
She excelled in storytelling and always enjoyed attending storytelling conferences. She was a devoted Christian, often teaching Bible study groups, singing in church choirs, and served as an Elder on the Session at Northside. She was an avid reader, having held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Science and a Master's degree in Children's Literature from Peabody-Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. During her life, she worked as a librarian in Mobile, AL, Tampa, FL, and lastly as a Media Specialist in the Pinellas County, FL School System.
Martha was a humble friend to all, especially to the residents at her last home, Heather Haven III, in Largo, FL.
Following the memorial service, there will be a later burial service at the Zion Presbyterian Church cemetery in Columbia, Tennessee.
Memorial gifts can be given in her memory to the Heather Haven III Assisted Living Facility at 10476 131st St. N, Largo, FL. 33774, Northside, or the charity of your choice.

Bibi at the food drive
|
Jesus Said "Feed Them" To support the Interfaith Food Pantry, the Mission Committee held a food drive on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the South Main Kroger. Jane, her son James, Heidi, and Bruce, and Barbara, with Bibi for moral support, collected donations and promoted the food pantry. We delivered 318.5 pounds of food to the Food Pantry, along with $120 in cash and gift card donations. Based on the $1.92/pound food value the food pantry uses for calculations, this was $611.52 in food value.
Ukirk Meal It is Northside's turn in the sponsoring church rotation to Feed the Flock at Ukirk on Tuesday, October 14. Contact Jane Jones (JJones7@moog.com) for details and to volunteer. Instructions and guidance about a potential menu are provided.. |

Worship Leader The role of the volunteer scripture reader is changing to expand the participation in the service, per the Worship Committee. In addition to reading the scripture lesson, the call to worship and the prayer of praise are now included in the role. The prayer and scripture will be provided in advance. Once you have read the scripture you may go sit in the congregation. Sign up to volunteer using the sign-up system. |
|
|
Volunteer Sign-up System There are a variety of ways to serve the congregation by volunteering to help in the nursery, usher, host fellowship time, or be the liturgist during worship. There is now a form on the church website where you can pick the positions you wish to fill and the dates you will serve. Go to https://www.nsidepresbburg.org/volsign/ to start.
Select a position you are interested in helping with and click the "Submit" button. You will see a form that lists open dates for that position. Select the dates you are available to help, enter your name, phone number, and email, then submit the form. You will receive a confirmation email showing the position and dates you signed up for.
