Pentecost Sunday -- Wear Red We will celebrate Pentecost, which commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles of Jesus while they were in Jerusalem.
Linda will preach on “Holy Who?” The hand chime choir will provide special music. It is also 2 Cents a Meal Sunday, so please bring your coins to pour in the bucket.
We will collect the Pentecost offering, which supports congregational initiatives with young people with 40% of the offering remaining with Northside. The Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) experience receives 25% of the offering, another 25% goes to support ministries with youth, ages 12–18, and those called to accompany them, and the remaining 10% supports the “Educate a Child, Transform the World” national initiative, which was affirmed at the 221st General Assembly (2014).
We will have Lemonade on the Lawn, weather permitting, otherwise it will be Lemonade in the Narthex. |

Creative Reuse Northside collects items for reuse in the container in the hallway at church. These go to the Creative Reuse Center in the children's Museum in Christiansburg. They are gifted to teachers and community members. Please refer to the attached document that lists items that areQ accepted and not accepted. This is a great service to our community.

Congratulations to former member Cathy Turrentine as she retires as pastor of Center Harbor Congregational Church (UCC) in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. We wish her all the best in retirement! (and her huband Dave Ostroth, and their Goldendoodle Susie, too!) |

Lemonade on the Lawn With June comes a shift from coffee and donuts in the sanctuary to lemonade outside on the lawn. This requires setting out a table, putting out the lemonade and cups, and cleaning up. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for those who want to help with this fellowship event.
There are open dates in July and August. Thanks to those who already signed up. |
