Thank You Teachers!
"As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." (I Peter 4:10)
The Christian Education Committee wishes to thank those who generously shared their gift of teaching with our church this year. Lucian Robinson continued to lead in the Adult Bible Study class with I John this year. Rev. Linda led Lenten Lunches with soups and breads provided by participants, held Adult Forum discussions on "Predestination," led a four-week Adult Forum class on Christian Nationalism with Charles Bostian, and helped Frieda Bostian, Pat Fullen, Ann-Marie Conner, and Marya Katz present on "What we sing and Why". Charles also led Adult Forum on ancient Christianities, while Frieda, along with Joe Hunnings, Mary Lough, Alex Aning, and Jane Jones led discussions on Adam Hamilton's video series called "The Journey" during Advent. Alex Aning also led a three-part Adult Forum series on Diversity. Additional Adult Forum sessions were led by Bruce and Heidi Harper, George Norton, Forest Arnold, Emmanuel Frimpong, Diane Thompson from the Mongomery County Christmas Store, John Galbraith from the local Gleaning Team, Gail Pankey from the Baby Shop, Scott Bailey on the Blacksburg Refugee Partnership, Kristine Reid and Margo Walter from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Wes Jamison from Ukirk, and Brooke Gill from the Alzheimer's Association. Susan Heinze, with her team of volunteers from the church, continued to care for and educate the youngest members of the congregation during church time. All the teachers are a blessing to our church, and we appreciate the time and energy each of you took to share your gifts with us this year. Thank you!

Special Music The choir starts its summer break on June 1. This is now the time to consider offering special music over the summer months. You don't have to do a solo - find a friend or family member to join you! It could be vocal or instrumental, using recorded or live accompaniment (Pat or Marya might be available to play). There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex waiting to have dates filled in. |
